A significant letter from the Holy Tzadik Rebbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Shinov concerning a dispute between a couple and how to resolve matters between them according to the ways of the Torah.

Handwritten by his gabai, with a line in the holy hand and signature of Rebbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam, Av Beit Din of Shinova.

"…And if she is willing to listen, that is good. But if not, inform us in writing, along with the signatures of two additional Torah scholars whom you will include with you, and then we will know how to proceed. For Rabbeinu Gershom Me’or Hagolah did not decree his cherem in order that a woman should keep her husband captive, only that a man should not bind his wife. And that is enough said.

The words of your holy and devoted uncle,

Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam."

Only the title and the first line of the letter are missing.
