This Italian made Mayim Acronim set is beautifully designed with highly detailed shell scrolling, floral and foliage motifs. A large washing cup sits at center with two C-scrolled handles flanking a shell designed ringlet applied to the lower encircling laurel leaves. Elegant hammering on the upper half of the cup in a gadroon style with an undulating design on its flared lip shaped like a lotus flower gives the item an elegant and grand appearance.
The wide basin is similarly detailed, featuring a combination of laurel leaf motifs sprouting upward from its circular drain topped by harmonious gadroon styled hammering. Shell shaped scrolling adorn the outer edges of the basin with two foliate scrolled handles fitted at its sides.
An applied raised pedestal base is decorated with further embellishments and gadroon styled hammering, with a large banded knopped stem and four stylized foliate feet. The overall style suggests a classical influence, from the Victorian period.
