With stamp of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Idel Zhislin (circa 1875–1936), a Chassid of the Rebbe Rashab.
Rabbi Shneur Zalman Idel was born in the town of Meglin (Chernigov province) to his mother Henia and his father Rabbi Baruch Yehuda Leib, who served as the government-appointed rabbi there.
In 1900, Rabbi Shneur Zalman worked on proofreading and preparing Sefer HaTanya for print.
Over the years, Rabbi Zalman Idel transcribed many Chassidic discourses, including the "Yom Tov of Rosh Hashanah 5666" discourse and the "B’sha’ah Shehikdimu 5672" discourse. Beyond Chassidic manuscripts, the Rebbe Rashab employed him to transcribe the work Yerach Yakar.
After the Rebbe Rashab moved to Rostov, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Idel relocated there as well and lived in a room in the Rebbe’s house, maintaining a close relationship with the Rebbe’s family. He is mentioned as a personal aide. During this time, he also helped save the family’s property. In 1917, he printed the Rebbe Rashab’s letter Chasdei Hashem Azkir, which was printed as a single leaf and corrected in several places before publication. In 1918, he printed the "Rostov Siddur."
In 1921, he was one of the directors of the Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva in Rostov. During the arrest of the Yeshiva’s leadership, he was detained for five days. Rabbi Zalman Idel also arranged for the Yeshiva to be recognized as an academic institution eligible for government funding.
