Sefer HaDorot HaChadash, Satmar Press, 1941, (May salvation come soon).

A highly historical copy, studied and cherished by a group of Hasidim who were detained in Germany after the Holocaust. These inscriptions speak for themselves!

A detailed and historical entry:

"Today, Monday of Parashat Vayishlach, the 10th of Kislev in the year of ‘Shivat Tzion’, I wrote a kvitel today to His Holiness, our Master, the Holy Rabbi of Belz, may he live long in the Land of Israel. May it be His will that the blessing of this righteous man will make an impression Above and that his blessings will be fulfilled. For we no longer have the strength to endure. … I implore our Father in Heaven to answer us and declare an end to our suffering, and to free us from here as soon as possible. Hakatan, Yechezkel Greenfeld, son of my father, the Gaon and Av Beit Din of Nyíregyháza, may he live and be well."

A similar entry and multiple signatures by the distinguished Chassid, Rabbi Binyamin Ze’ev Spitzer:

"I took this sefer from my brother-in-law, R. Yitzchak, to revive my soul, for I dwell among wicked Gentiles, may their names be erased, murderers, and thieves. May the good God help us leave this place freely soon, for our strength to endure has failed. The trial has already begun, but due to their wickedness, it has been delayed. I hope it will end well.

Binyamin Ze’ev Spitzer."

Another historical entry:

"With God’s help, Monday of Parashat Vayishlach, in the year of ‘Shivat Tzion, ‘ here in the prison of Landau, may it soon be redeemed, we prayed together in a minyan with 12 of our companions: Yitzchak Segal Roth, Peretz Segal Zilberman, Yissachar HaKohen Schwartz, Maram Stern, Naoch Avraham, Yechezkel Greenfeld, Yaakov Kassirer, Moshe Herbst, Avraham Segal Zilberman, Elimelech Vb”b, Tuvia Hechel, Yitzchak…"

Signatures: Yitzchak Segal Rata, Hohenems, 5710.

In the front cover, more similar records appear:

"With God’s help, I read and studied this holy sefer many times while we were, in our sins, imprisoned in Germany among the wicked ones, may their names be erased, in the city of Landau, may it soon be redeemed. The seforim of the disciples of the Baal Shem Tov of blessed memory gave me life, binding me to cords of strength to ensure I would not fall into the snare of despair. May the merit of all the righteous ones … whose names are mentioned in this sefer stand for us and our descendants … to arouse mercy before our Father in Heaven, may His name be blessed, to redeem us quickly from darkness to light and from mourning to joy…"

Signed:  "On the sixth day of Parashat Vayetze, in the year of ‘Shivat Tzion,    Hakatan , Peretz HaLevi Silberman."

"I too am here with 12 companions, Hakatan, Avraham Segal Silberman."

"I will follow after him, I too, Hakatan, Yechezkel Greenfeld, son of Etil, for I am now in a room here in the prison. But we hope that soon God will help us … and we will merit to be with our dear families, may they live."

Additional signature:

" Hakatan, Tuvia Hechel of the holy community of Sanok, may it be redeemed soon."

"My space is limited, so I will be brief, leaving a record that we were together in the prison of Landau. I too am among those who beseech that God will release us quickly from our chains, for we have suffered more than enough.

Hakatan, Noah Avraham of Ungvár."
