With approbations by the Yismach Moshe and Maharam Ash. Reportedly, the Rebbe of Komarno traveled to the Yismach Moshe in Ujhel in order to receive his approbation to the sefer. The Yismach Moshe was weak and sick at the time, and on that occasion the Rebbe of Komarno revealed the origin of the soul of the Yismach Moshe and his grandson the Yitav Lev. An additional miraculous story occurred when he requested the approbation of the Maharam Ash.
The Holy Rebbi Yisrael Yaakov Yokel Teitlebaum (1838 – 1924) was the son of Rabbi Shmuel of Gorlice, son of Rabbi Eliezer Nissan of Drohobycz, son of the Yismach Moshe. He was a son-in-law of the Yetev Lev. Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Yokel studied by both his grandfather, Rabbi Eliezer Nissan, and father-in-law. He frequently traveled to Rabbi Chaim of Sanz who accorded him much admiration. He served as Av Beis Din of Barbasht, Gorlice and finally Volovo (today Mizhhirya).
In Volovo, he served as an Admor, accepting kvitlach and distributing segulos and amulets. He published his grandfather’s manuscript Responsa Yismach Moshe and Tehila L’Moshe recounting his life. His Torah novellae were published in Hativ Aytiv. His son was Rabbi Moshe David Teitlebaum, Av Beis Din of Lapush.
His son the Gaon Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum (1881-1944). Succeeded his father as Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Volove (1901-1941), Rabbi of Nyirbator (1941-1944). Author of Tehillos Ahron. Father-in-law of the Beirach Moshe of Satmar.
His grandson Rabbi Shmuel Teitelbaum (d. 1944), son of Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum of Volova and brother-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum of Szatmar.
The author, Rebbe Yitzchak Eizik Yehudah Yechiel Safrin (1806-1874), Rabbi of Zidichov and Komarno, kabbalist and leading transmitter of the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov. He was a nephew and close disciple of the Sar Beit HaZohar, Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh of Zidichov. He was cherished by foremost Chassidic leaders – the Chozeh of Lublin (who was also his matchmaker), the Ohev Yisrael of Apta, R. Moshe Tzvi of Savran, his uncle R. Moshe of Sambur, R. Yisrael of Ruzhin and others. He authored many books on Chassidut and Kabbalah, including the Heichal HaBerachah commentary on the Torah, based on the kabbalistic teachings of the Arizal and the Baal Shem Tov. The Chumash Heichal HaBerachah is a foundational work of Chassidut and kabbalah, and was prized by rebbes of all dynasties (the Zidichov dynasty, the Divrei Chaim and his descendants, the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch and others), who praised it for the quality and holiness of its kabbalistic teachings.
