Inside the sefer there is an original kvittel received by the holy Rebbi of Kolshitz from the city of Sanz:"B”h Sanz, Moshe, son of Ginendel, for health and to be released from imprisonment to freedom without any obstacle, God willing. For a good and blessed life, as he is in great need of salvation."
The Holy Gaon & Tzadik Rabbi Menachem Mendel Halberstam Rabbi of Frysztak and Dukla (1870-1926), son of Rabbi Leibish of Dukla son of Rabbi David of Chrzanów, son of Rebbe author of Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Son-in-law of David son of Rebbe Yechezkel Rabbi of Shinova author of Divrei Yechezkel. The tzaddikim of that generation testified that he was an incredible tzaddik but in his humility refused to serve as rebbe and would travel often to the Belz Rebbe Yehoshua Rokeach and his son Rabbi Yissachar Dov. His sons and sons-in-law served as rebbes and in the rabbinate. Among them are Rebbi Chuna of Kolaczyce, Rebbe David of Tshebin and Rabbi of Zaliztsi, Rebbi Chaim Baruch Rabbi of Frysztak, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Rabbi of Dukla etc.
His son the Holy Rebbi Chuna Halberstam (1884-1943) was already the rabbi of Koloshitz (Kołaczycein) in his youth. During the First World War, he fled to Kasau, where he lived for seven years. In 1923, he came back to Galicia and settled in Reisha, where he led a Yeshiva Zera Kodesh for young men.
Rebbi Chuna was one of the prominent rabbis of his time, and he was a known fighter against the Zionist movement. He was known to be a righteous and holy man.
His great-uncle Rebbe Yeshaya of Chechov, the youngest son of the Divrei Chaim, affirmed that Rebbi Chuna possessed many of the Divrei Chaim’s sacred qualities and character traits. He gained repute as a miracle-worker, bringing health and full recovery to the ill, and causing thousands to flock to his door to seek his blessing, counsel and salvation. He was killed in 1943 Hy”d.
His son-brother the Holy Rebbe Chaim Baruch Halberstam (1887-1942), son and successor of the Holy Rebbe Menachem Mendel of Frysztak (1870-1926), and maternal grandson of the rebbe, author of Divrei Yechezkel of Sieniawa (1815-1899). Son-in-law of R. Ya’akov Kopel Parnass of Gorlice, grandson of the Chişinău Rabbi. Served in his father’s lifetime as the "Junior Rabbi" of the city and after his father’s death in 1926, was appointed Rabbi of Frysztak. His brothers also served as rebbes: Rebbe Chaneh of Kołaczyce, Rebbe David of Trzebinia and Rebbe Yechezkel Shraga of Dukla. He and his entire family perished during the Holocaust: his son R. David Aryeh Leibush who succeeded his father in the Frysztak rabbinate, his son-in-law R. Shalom Halberstam, son of his brother R. Chaneh of Kołaczyce and the rest of his descendants Hy”d.
