The holy Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Rabin-Rubin of Glogow was born in the 1825 to his father, the holy Rebbi Menachem Mendel of Glogow (son-in-law of the holy Rebbi Meir Halevi, author of "Or LaShamayim" of Apta), who was the son of the holy Rebbi Asher Yeshaya of Ropshitz.

In his first marriage, he was the son-in-law of his uncle, the holy Rebbi Aryeh Leibush Niehaus of Chełm (who was also a son-in-law of the Or LaShamayim of Apta). In his second marriage, he was the son-in-law of the holy Rebbi Elazar of Kozhnitz.

His father, the holy Rebbi of Glogow, entrusted him with the rabbinic position there. He became renowned for his sanctity and asceticism, his genius, and his diligence. The followers of his holy father would also come to him—even during his father’s lifetime—to receive his holy blessings.

He passed away during his father’s lifetime in 1873, at the age of only 48. When the news reached the holy Rebbi of Sanz, he expressed his sorrow, saying, "For these, I weep, for such a loss that we have lost."

His son from his first marriage was the holy Rabbi Alter Moshe Chaim Rubin, Av Beit Din  of Reinsiv and Glogow.

His son from his second marriage was the holy Rabbi Elazar Rubin of Sasov, author of "Zikaron Elazar."
