Sefer Brit Yitzchak, itinerary for study "to recite the eighth eve before circumcision and it is a tikun to draw a ‘string’ of chesed and great sanctity to the newborn boy and to all who deal in this mitzvah".
Amsterdam, 1729.
With approbations by the rabbis of the Sephardic community in Amsterdam, Rabbi David Yisrael Atias, and Rabbi Yitzchak Chaim di Brito. On the second leaf is a printed dedication in Portuguese by Rabbi Daniel Ferreira in honor of Rabbi Yitzchak Ya’akov Yeshurun.
On the night before the Brit Milah, Jewish communities were accustomed to recite passages from the Bible, Talmud and Midrash, according to the Zohar (Parshat Lech Lecha Leaf 93). The Sephardic communities call this night Brit Yitzchak. Apparently, the origin for this name is in this sefer, which is the first to carry this title.
