Jerusalem, 1844. At the famous press of Israel Bak. One of the first works to be printed on the Moses Montefiore press.
Approbations by Rabbi Chaim Avraham Gagin and Rabbi Ya’akov Antebi, Av Beit Din of Damascus. Two title pages.
The present part was printed in 1844. In the previous year, Israel Bak received the printing press as a gift from Sir Moses Montefiore, and from that year onwards, the books included the inscription on their title pages: "Printed on the printing press of the gift of Moses and Judith." This prayer book is one of the first books printed on this press.
Additionally, at the beginning of the book, historically valuable documents were printed, including a preface by the printer Israel Bak, in which he tells about the history of printing in the Land of Israel and in Safed, and about his connections with Sir Montefiore.
