Rabbi Elisha Habillo was born in Sarajevo and was a close disciple of Rabbi David Pardo.

Rabbi Elisha Habillo was born in the mid-to-late 18th century in Sarajevo, ( former Yugoslavia). He was the prime disciple of Rabbi David Pardo and published this sefer Shafa’as Revivim. He spent a period of time in Italy and his lifelong yearning was to settle in Eretz Yisrael, although it is unclear if he ever fulfilled his dream. The year of his passing is likewise unknown. Rabbi Chananel Nifi, who was closely acquainted with Rabbi Elisha, wrote that “he was very humble” (see Toldos Gedolei Yisrael, Trieste 1853 p. 11). A list of his written legacy was published by Ben Menachem in Kovetz Sinai Vol. 60 p. 283-288.
