Year-round machzor in Ashkenazic-Polish rite, the title page proclaims “such [quality] has not yet been seen in compact machzorim.”
Two parts in in one volume.
This set of 18th century compact machzorim from Amsterdam is exceedingly rare, especially in its complete condition.
This set features the Kavanas Hapaytan commentary, which presents before every piyyut a brief introduction of the author’s intentions and meaning in composing the liturgy.
This set was first printed in Amsterdam, 1750 in larger format, yet this is the first print of these machzorim in their present smaller format.
Part 1: Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur: 36, 101, 120-138, 137-160, 155-164 leaves.
Part. 2: Three Festivals: 176 leaves.
