All parts have lengthily & important marginal notations in the hand of the famous Gaon Gaon Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis from his years in Kalvarija & Jerusalem.

The great Gaon Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis (1864-1953), was born in Shnipishok (near Vilna) and was known as a prodigy from a young age. At seventeen he went to learn in the Volozhin Yeshiva under the Netziv, who called him the “Living Shas”. While learning at Volozhin, his reputation quickly grew and he was known as a diligent and brilliant student. In 1892, he was appointed Rav of Bodki, Poland and in 1911 he became Rav of Kalvarija, Lithuania. In 1938, he emigrated to Eretz Yisroel where he served on the Beis Din of the Eidah HaCharedis until his passing. He authored the multi-volume Liflagos Reuven.

Overall Good condition, very few stains, some minor marginal worming and small marginal tears on first few pages of book, original leather binding rubbed at edges with damaged spine.
