The Holy Gaon & Tzadik Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich (1863-1944) Rabbi of Tshaba (Hejőcsaba) & Shamloy (Șimleu) author of Shut Lechem Shlomo. Grandson of Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Schwartz author of Kol Arieh, rabbi of Mád.

A tremendous Torah scholar, kabbalist and Chassid, he was one of the leading halachic authorities and Orthodox rabbis in Hungary. He established a yeshiva and Talmud Torah in Șimleu. A leading Chassid of the Admor author of the Kedushat Yom Tov of Siget and an admirer of his son the Admor Rabbi Yoel of Satmar, who, like him, sharply objected to Zionism and Agudat Yisrael. Yet, he was also known for his love of Eretz Yisrael and his community sent the largest donations to Eretz Yisrael.

He was held in high esteem by the Rabbis and Rebbes of his generation for his outstanding Torah knowledge and fear of G-d. Rebbe Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert proclaimed that he was unparalleled in his times as a halachic authority. Rebbe Avraham Yehoshua Freund of Năsăud, himself a leader to thousands of Chassidim, would humble himself before him and the Darchei Teshuvah termed him a second Shaagat Aryeh. He authored: Responsa Lechem Shlomo, Tiyul BaPardes, Rachamei Av, and many more.

During the Holocaust, he could escape to Romania yet refused to do so, saying he now had a chance to observe the Mitzvah of Kiddush hashem. He perished in Auschwitz with most of his family Hy\'\'d.
