Sefer Siftei Yeshenim, a unique work that was considered a novelty at the time, containing a Bibliographic list of Hebrew seforim from the Jewish bookcase. By Rabbi Shabtai Meshorer Bass, the author of the famed sefer Siftei Chachamim on Rashi’s commentary on the Torah.

 Zholkva, 1806.

Actually, this sefer is the first Hebrew bibliographic book. This is the second edition of the sefer (the first was printed in Amsterdam in 1680); yet here, for the first time, a second section was added by Rabbi Uri Zvi Rubenstein containing seforim that were published after the printing of the first edition in 1680, some of them Chassidic and Kabbalistic seforim: Or Hachaim Shklov (Rabbi Chaim ben Atar of Safed?), Or Hameir Koretz, Noam Elimelech Koretz!!! Toldot Yaakov Yosef Koretz, Tanya Slavuta, Raza Meheimana, Kedushat Levi and more. Thus, this edition becomes even more important than the first.

A lengthy, fascinating introduction by the author. At its beginning, he writes in the name of the holy Shelah that there is merit to just saying the names of the holy seforim, even without studying them. In an additional introduction, he praises the order of learning of the Sephardic communities of Amsterdam, the children learning first the Mikrah followed by the Mishnah and only then the Talmud and its commentators.
