Elegant case is designed in a boxlike form with a large viewing window set on four gilded lion shaped legs. Outer case presents the words ‘Megillat Esther’ prominently gilded on both sides of the front panel. Five chased plaques portraying different scenes from the megillah applied on the upper and lower front panel. At top of case are two crown shaped winding handles flanking two cast figurines of Mordechai on a prancing horse in kingly garb being led by a hunched over Haman. Megillah scroll is written on vellum and is brilliantly illustrated with many pictures of the accounts from the megillah. Each written section is separated by beautiful foliate columns and detailed sculpted framework. Megillah case is encased in a polished wood felt lined box for gifting or safekeeping.
