Letter of thanks for sending £2 in support of the Volozhin Yeshiva. He also asks them ”To please furnish us with the addresses of wealthy donors who love Torah & will listen to our call for urgent help”.
And concludes with blessings in his Holy hand, ”May you be blessed by the Lord with all goodness and may He fulfill all the desires of their hearts and souls, as i bless your beloved soul with love, waiting for the salvation of the Lord”.

The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro (1873-1936) was the son of Rabbi Refael and grandson of the Netziv. He learned Torah by his great brother-in-law, Rabbi Chaim of Brisk. After World War I, he reestablished Volozhin and served as rav of the city. He left behind many manuscripts of halachic responsa and explanations of sugyos throughout the Torah that were destroyed by the Nazis. The little that was salvaged was printed under the title Gaon Yaakov.
Yeshivos. He was a great and distinguished rabbi who served in the city of Grimsby, and later in the city of Gateshead. From there, he was appointed as the rabbi in the city of Middleboro, and eventually became the Av Beit Din in the city of Manchester, where he passed away in 1929 at the age of seventy.
