Sefer Sukkat Shalom – a kabbalist composition by the Divine kabbalist Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher (1796-1874), one of the first Chovevei Zion who acted for the revival of the Jewish nation on its land and president of the "Sukkat Shalom-Shnot Eliyahu" Yeshiva, who was known as a holy miracle-maker.

Includes Tikunim, prayers and novella. At the end, "Igeret Ha’Kodesh" by the author was printed, in which he presents his wonderful plan to settle the Land of Israel and turn it into a spiritual center for all Jews of the world – the basis of his spiritual doctrine.

This is the first sefer printed by the well-known printing press of Rabbi Yitzchak Hirschensohn.

Overall Good condition, some stains, text block split towards the beginning of book, some pages have small marginal tears and are slightly detached from text block, original binding rubbed, damaged leather spine.


At the end of the sefer (leaf 198), "Igeret Ha\'Kodesh" was printed - an exceptional missive by Rabbi Eliyahu, about the spiritual state of the Jewish nation, when "the light of Torah is daily being extinguished", and the ways to improve it. The missive is signed also by Rabbi Ya\'akov Etlinger. The content of the missive: "how to improve the prestige of the Torah, of the Jewish people and of our Holy Land".


On the title page it is written that the sefer was printed by "the high-quality printing press of Rabbi Yitzchak Hirshcensohn". The Hirschensohn family bought the printing press from the printer Reb Nissan Bak.


Reb Nissan sold the printing press to Rabbi Ya\'akov Mordechai Hirschensohn and his son Reb Yitzchak with all the tools needed for its operation so that actually, this printing house is a continuation of the printing house of Yisrael Bak, whose son, Nissan, had inherited.
