Flyleaf with self dedication by the Ga’on Rabbi Ya’akov Koppel HaLevi Bamberger Av Beit Din of Worms, who received the Sefer from his friend Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Lehren of Amsterdam.

The Ga’on Rabbi Ya’akov Koppel HaLevi Bamberger Av Beit Din of Worms (1784-1864), among the greatest rabbis of Ashkenaz during the period of the "Aruch LaNer"; rabbi of Rabbi Zvi Binyamin Auerbach (who cites him numerously in his book "Nachal Eshkol", see section II, p. 117). Articles by him were printed in "Shomer Zion HaNe’eman", however, dozens of his manuscripts were lost throughout the years. An entire article of his biography was published in "HaMa’ayan", Tamuz 1975, volume 15, issue 4. His father, Rabbi Yehuda Moshe HaLevi Av Beit Din of Bischofsheim, passed away in 1820.

One of the last Seforim published in Safed before the 1837 earthquake. Includes final leaf – errata, which appears in some copies only.
