The title page that is illustrated with images of Moses and Aaron is a rare occurrence for the printings of Izmir and only appeared in this particular printing house.
Self-Dedication on the title page ”I received this Sefer from the Author may he shine, Hatzair Abraham Ardit S”T”
The great wise sage Rabbi [Chaim] Abraham Ardit, may his memory be blessed, was one of the luminaries and rabbis of Izmir. He was born in 1735.
In the Sefer "Mateh Ephraim" by Rabbi Ephraim Ardit, printed in 1791 there is an appendix at the end, a Kuntres dedicated to Rabbi Abraham Ardit. At the beginning of this Kuntres, it is written as follows: "This is found written by the complete sage, known for his piety, like Rabbi Chaim Avraham Arditi, may his memory be blessed, who innovated in his young days while studying with his teacher, the great sage, author of ‘Sha’ar HaMelech, ‘ may his memory be blessed. It appears that when he fell ill at a young age, they added the name ‘Chaim’ to his name. He passed away around 1770.
In the same Sefer, "Mateh Ephraim" (Salonica 1791) , there is an addition at the end, "Sefer Yad Aharon" on the Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chayim, by his friend Rabbi Aharon Alphandari the author of the present Sefer.
Another antique Sephardic cursive signature on the title page.
6 antique marginal notations in a Sephardic hand (possibly that of Rabbi Abraham Ardit)

The author was born in Izmir around 1701 and passed away in Hebron in 1774. He wrote about all the sections of the Rambam, but his manuscript was burned, as recorded by the Chid\'\'a in Shem Hagedolim.
