Tractate Ketubot of Talmud Bavli.

Lemberg, At the Press of Chaya Toba the wife of Ahron, 1836.

Very Rare, Has never been offered at public auction. Only Tractates Beitzah  & Pesachim were known to be published that year.

On the title page the printers explain why they printed this volume with only the commentary of Rashi, Tosafot, and the Maharsha. They mention that it is customary for students to start learning a new tractate (Masechet) when they begin their studies, and they continue studying it until they finish it. During this time, it is impossible to complete all the material related to that particular tractate, including various commentaries. In order to benefit the general public, as the sages have taught, "Be cautious with the children of the poor, for from them the Torah will come forth, " and since their parents cannot afford to purchase a complete Talmud with all the commentaries at any given time, the Talmud is printed with the commentary of Rashi, Tosafot, and others relevant to the Talmud. This allows everyone to acquire it for their children at an affordable price.

112 Leaves.

Bad condition, damages, tears & worming, later binding.
