As was his custom he signed the Sefer many times.

A Torah genius, Rabbi Shmuel Heller born in 1803, was raised in the home of the Chozeh of Lublin, and following his counsel ascended to Eretz Israel.in 1817 He served as Dayan & later Rabbi of Safed for 60 years from 1841 onwards A highly respected rabbinical leader of the chassidic community deeply involved in its contacts with Eastern Europe, with the local Sephardic community and its rabbis, with the Ottoman authorities and with the local Arab population.
He wielded great influence in setting the public agenda. His rulings and actions reveal a clear trend that placed at its center the Land of Israel and the ancient traditions that represented for him a coveted, pre-exile world. He craved what was perceived as authentic to the Land of Israel and strove to connect with local traditions (See Otzar HaRabanim 19134).
He passed away in Safed on the 22nd of Tevet, 1884. He authored: Taharat HaKodesh, Derech Nesher, Kavod Melachim, Divrei Mishpat, Shivrei Luchot, and others
Rabbi Refael Silberman (1839-1918), born in Uman and settled in Tzefas succeeding his father Rabbi Mordechai as Dayan and in 1872 as Rabbi of the Ashkenazim of the town. Respected by both Jews and Arabs. Rabbi of Uman, settled in Eretz Yisrael in 1850 and joined the Beth Din of Rabbi Shmuel Heller in Tzefas, and the Beth Din in Teverya. Ancestor of the Silberman – Kaplan rabbinical family of Tzefas.
Stamps of the Tzaddik Rabbi Naftali Chanalis (1856-1920) the grandson of the holy Rebbe Baruch of Mezhibuzh. He was twelve years old when he immigrated with his parents to the Land of Israel to live in Safed. His pious mother dedicated her life to charity and made all the efforts to raise her son to be a great Torah scholar. To honor and show her respect, her son was named after her "Chanales" (Chanale’s son). He studied with the most prominent rabbis of Safed until he became a rabbi and great Torah scholar.
He was a Mohel of the children of Rosh Pinah and the neighborhood. Due to his being respected by all the Jews of the Land of Israel, in 1908 he was chosen together with Rabbi Ya’akov Mendelbaum, to serve as the representatives of the Yishuv in a conference of Jews from all over the Ottoman Empire to choose their Chief Rabbi.
A Shadar and dignitary of Safed in the early 20th centur, and served as the manager of public institutions of Safed, especially the Toras Eretz Yisroel Yeshiva. he died in a train accident in 1920 & was buried in Tel Aviv.

Overall Good condition. tears to title page, some stains in first portion of volume, some marginal worming affecting text in first portion of the volume, minor marginal worming in second portion of the volume, later binding. 16 Cm.
