A letter of invitation to come and spend time together in the Sukkah of Yeshivas Ponevezh "to tell by the grace of heaven about my holy mission this time".
Bnei Brak, 13 Tishrei 1950.
The famous Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman (1888-1969) was the Rosh Yeshivat Ponevezh in Lithuania before the Holocaust and founded the yeshiva in Israel after it. He was the first leader of Mo’etzet Gedolei HaTorah. He also founded the Batei Avot institutions for children who survived the Holocaust and founded Kiryat Ponevezh and Yeshivat Grodna in Ashdod. The great sacrifices he made in establishing Torah life in Israel after the destruction of European Jewry were legendary.
