The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Rosen (1881-1939, Otzar Ha-Rabanim 14024), of Ruzhyn-Chortkov Chassidim, son in law of Rabbi Ya’akov Meir Bleich. Was ordained as teacher by the Maharsha"m and by Rabbi Meir Arik. Served as rabbi of Monastrytchaz, settled in Vienna after World War I, where served as rabbi. In 1938 was appointed Av-Beit–Din of Vienna, following Rabbi Yossef Babad’s flee to Holland due to Nazi threat. Was arrested by the Nazis in 1939 and a few days later his wife was informed that if she pays delivery fees she will get his ashes.
