"May the rabbi’s, the author’s, merit protect you, to remove all disease and blemish from among you, and to be blessed with limitless blessings"

Sefer Ohr LaShamayim – Chassidut in the order of chamishah chumshei Torah by the Holy Admo"r Rebbi Meir of Apta – one of the most prominent Admo"rim of all generations, ]. He is known by the name of this Sefer, as "the author of Ohr HaShamayim of Apta."

Second edition. [Lvov, 1860.]

At the beginning of the Sefer, is printed "A Prayer by the Holy Rebbi the author , may his memory be a blessing" – the author’s famous prayer: "Master of the Universe, I know that I am alone in Your hands as a material in the hands of the Creator…". In later editions of the Sefer, starting from the edition of 1914 and onwards, there was printed before the prayer: "Which the Holy Rebbe  from Radomsk, may his memory be a blessing, used to say every evening and morning, and he said that it is an awesome segulah (spiritual remedy) for livelihood and success to say it every day."

The title page proclaims: "Compilations and prayers for every day and another prayer for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, and Remazim of marriage as spoken by Rebbi Meir HaLevi [Rottenburg], av beit din of Stubnitz and Apta, as received from his teacher, Rebbi Ya’akov Yitzchak HaLevi, the Seer of Lublin."

The Sefer was arranged and brought to print by the author’s son-in-law, Rebbi Menachem Mendel Rubin, av beit din of Głogów. In his foreword, he wrote that "As the words left his sacred mouth, he all but left material existence; the Shechinah spoke from his throat, and his sacred words were what was influenced by Heaven at that moment. This I heard from him quite a few times." Blessed is the eye that has seen the brilliance and the splendor of the light of the Shechinah that rested upon his sacred face, and happy is the ear that heard the sacred words that left his mouth in sanctity and purity."
