This elegant fluted box was engraved with a lengthy Hebrew dedication in honor of the recipient. It is dated 1925 in Hebrew, and after the date, the Hebrew letters Lamed Peh Kuf are engraved as one single letter, standing for "In order of the small counting", referring to 1925. This type of "combination letter" after the Hebrew date is generally found on items from very religious communities in Europe.

Dedication Engraving on top of box translated to :

"A Guiding Holy Sacrifice (Korban Minchah) for a Faithful Worker, The Day he reaches Seventy Years".

This blessing is surrounding the dedication to:

‘In Honor of "ASHER BRONEN" His Candle Should Burn Bright’.

Underneath the engraved dedication is also written:

"Long Live the Good People of the Sacred Society(Chevra Kadisha)"
