For over 30 years, Marian Slepian created contemporary pieces in cloisonné enamel. Her work is inspired with warmth and spiritual meaning. Brilliant colored wine cups, Torah shields, and Menorahs are just a few dramatic examples of the cloisonné enamel technique. Although each of Slepian’s enamel pieces has a distinctly contemporary feel, clearly they are touched by a vibrant Byzantine influence.
She is nationally recognized with numerous works represented in synagogues and permanent collections across the U.S. She expressed her love of Jewish ritual and tradition through wonderfully creative means.
