The canopy was set up for the wedding of the Admor Rebbi Baruch Yerachmiel Rabinowitz of Munkatch, with his only daughter of the Admor Hagahon Rebbi Chaim Elazar Shapiro of Munkacz, the "Menuchas Elazar". The wedding took place in Munkatch on the 17th of Adar 1923.
This photo was sent to the groom at that time – the Admor Rebbi Baruch Yerachmiel Rabinowitz of Munkacz in 1976.
The flag had four colors: white, red, yellow and blue – the colors that the Jews used when they left Egypt, Techelet Argaman Tolaat Shani & Sheish.
This photo was sent by a woman named Irith bat Shalom to the Admor of Munkacz, and she wrote that she is donating the photo (with another photo, probably of her father) "to the community center that will be established in Petach Tikva." – In 1947 the Admor moved to Petach Tikva and established a Beit Midrash in the Kfar Ganim neighborhood.
The letter with the two photos are included.
Very good condition. Small tear in the upper left corner.
