Touching letter a request for a ‘Certificate’ on behalf of his sister, the Rebbe writes that he will look after all her needs at his expense. He also discusses help for a daughter of his Holy brother in law the Kopishnitz Rebbe at the Beis Yaakov seminary in Jerusalem.
Sent to the famous Askan Rabbi Moshe Blau, chairman of Agudas Israel.
As stated, handwritten letters from the Rebbe are extremely rare. The custom in the Ruzhin Chassidic courts is that the gabbai writes letters in the Rebbe’s name, as part of the royal etiquette. However, when the Rebbe does a favor for a Jew, he does not consider his own honor or the honor of his father’s house, and he takes the quill in his sacred hand and with his own hand & he expresses his request.
