The work opens with an approbation from the Bnei Yissacher, Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Shapiro. This was the first of the only four approbations he ever gave.
Rabbi Yaakov Zvi Yolles (1777-1824) was a disciple of the Chozeh of Lublin, the Maggid of Kosnitz and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rimanov. He was a prominent Polish Torah scholar, astute, incisive and knowledgeable in all areas of Torah and served as av beis din in a number of cities, including: Dinov, Hussaków, Głogów.
Though he authored many works, he is known as the “Melo HaRo’im" per this title.
