Rabbi Moshe Mintz (1750-1831, Otzar Rabbanim 14912). He was one of the leading sages of his generation, renowned throughout Hungary. Rabbi Mintz served for many years as Rabbi in Old Duba (which is nowadays part of Budapest, Hungary. Rabbi Mintz was extremely active in disseminating Torah and left his mark on the city. Among a number of initiatives, Rabbi Mintz established a Yeshiva Gedola. This Yeshiva counts a number of Torah luminaries among its alumni, including Rabbi Be’endet Gotteign, author of ‘Kesef Nivchar’, and Head of Hendias Bet Din. Many of Rabbi Mintz’s students also studied under the Chatam Sofer.
