The gaon Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Adler was the son of Rabbi Yoav Adler from Hanshowitz and a student of the Pressburg yeshivah. He succeeded his father-in-law, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Prager, in the Poprad rabbinate from 1942 until he was killed in the Holocaust in 1944 Hy”d.
