The printer the Tzaddik Rabbi Yisroel Yoffe (1740?-1828) one of the important disciples of Baal Hatanya. Corresponded with his Rav on matters of Chassidic Avodas Hashem. In his old age, he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and settled in Hebron. His grandson, Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai (a disciple of the Tzemach Tzedek) wrote of him: "אדם גדול בתורה, חסיד גדול, מהחסידים הראשונים המקורבים של אדמו"ר בעל התניא". It is known that Baal Hatanya gave him to print one of the editions of his sacred Siddur, with oral and written instructions. Baal Hatanya\'s brother, the She\'eris Yehuda, wrote to him on the printing of the Siddur: "...אתו החכמה והמדע, והוא שמע בעצמו מכבוד רבינו נ"ע כמה דברים, וגם יש בידו חבילות חבילות הגהות מכתיבת יד קדש אשר כתב אליו".
