The Holy Rebbe Zvi Hirsh Shapira, author of Darkei Teshuva (1845-1914, Encyclopedia Le’Chassidut Vol 3, pp. 618-620), son of Rebbi Shlomo Shapira, Av Beit Din of Mukacheve, author of Shem Shlomo, son of Rebbi Elazar of Lantzhut, son of Rebbi Zvi Elimelech of Dinow, author of Pnei Yissaschar. A prominent rabbi of his days in Torah knowledge and Chassidism, he succeeded his father in the Mukacheve rabbinate, strengthening this Chassidism followed by thousands. Founder of Kollel Munkatch, and Nesi Eretz Israel. Wrote Darkei Teshuva, Be’er Lachai Ro’I, Zvi Tiferet, etc.

Signatures, stamps & marginal notations of Rabbi Yosef HaCohen Schwartz was a son of Rabbi Naftali Schwartz, author of Beis Naftali and Rabbi of Mad. Rabbi Yosef was a disciple of Rabbi Yaakov Tenenbaum, author of Naharei Afarsemon, and son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch, Rabbi of Bonyhad and author of Pri Hasadeh and Tevuas Hasadeh. Served as Dayan in Bonyhad and Rabbi of the Machzikei Torah community in Groswardein. Authored a large number of halachic works and edited his father-in-law’s writings for publication. For 20 years he served as editor of the respected rabbinical journal ‘Vayelaket Yosef’ including many of his own contributions.
