The Holy Rebbi Shmuel Zvi Weiss [passed away in 1879] the father of the Holy Rebbi the Imrei Yosef of Spinka. A leading disciple of the Holy Rebbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchov who greatly praised him calling him ‘One of the Sixty Heroes’. In addition, he once said of him and of his brother of Svaliava that they are ‘his two favorite silver candlesticks’. He was also a student of the Holy Sar Shalom of Belz
He also studied Torah with the Holy Rebbi the Bnei Yissachar of Dinov who was Mesader Chupah and Kiddushin at his wedding and with the Holy Rebbi Yehuda Zvi of Rasla. When he lived in Munkatch, many Hassidim and admirers gathered around him and he became known as a wonder-worker.
He succeeded his father as Ra’avad of Munkatch after his father immigrated to Israel.. He edited for the printer the Sefer Da’at Kedoshim of his rabbi, Yehuda Zvi of Razla. Rebbi Yitzhak Isaac of Svaliava wrote in his Sefer Beit Yitzhak that his brother was beside Rebbi Yitzhak Isaac of Zidichov when he was dying, and he put his hands on his head and gave him the power of being a miracle worker. Throughout his time in Munkatch people gathered around him.
The Holy Rebbe Zvi Hirsh Shapira, author of Darkei Teshuva (1845-1914, Encyclopedia Le’Chassidut Vol 3, pp. 618-620), son of Rebbi Shlomo Shapira, Av Beit Din of Mukacheve, author of Shem Shlomo, son of Rebbi Elazar of Lantzhut, son of Rebbi Zvi Elimelech of Dinow, author of Pnei Yissaschar. A prominent rabbi of his days in Torah knowledge and Chassidism, he succeeded his father in the Mukacheve rabbinate, strengthening this Chassidism followed by thousands. Founder of Kollel Munkatch, and Nesi Eretz Israel. Wrote Darkei Teshuva, Be’er Lachai Ro’I, Zvi Tiferet, etc.
