Rav Shmuel Dovid Halevi Jungreis, Av Beis Din of Feher- Yarmut (5597-5654) author of Responsa Maharsadeh, son of Rav Shraga Feish Halevi Jungreis, Av Beis Din of סעטשאט. Rav Shmuel Dovid was the son-in-law of his uncle- the Menuchas Asher. After his marriage, he resided near his father-in-law in Csenger. He was appointed Av Beis din in 1868 as well as in Yarmut. He was also a disciple of the Ksav Sofer and the Goren Dovid.

Talmudic novellae by the author of the famed Eliyah Rabbah on Shulchan Aruch. The present volume contains novellae on Tractates Ketuboth, Kiddushin, Gittin, Bava Kama, Bava Bathra and Chullin. The work was printed by Shapira’s grandson and namesake, Elijah ben Wolf Shapira. R. Elijah Shapira (1660-1712) was the brother-in-law of Rabbis David Oppenheim and Jacob Reischer. Rabbi of Tiktin and Rosh Yeshiva in Prague, R. Shapira’s blossoming rabbinical career was cut short by his untimely death.
