This pair of brass candlesticks were made by the Jewish firm "B. Henneberg" in Warsaw, Poland. The hallmark for this firm is under the base, along with the date of 1908. Unlike the multitude of other brass candlesticks made by both Jewish and non-Jewish firms in Poland during this era, these candlesticks have overtly Jewish symbols, indicating a specific Jewish usage, i.e., for the Sabbath. At each section are large Stars of David.
On the base, rampant Lions of Judah. Included are the original removable drip pans, that also bear Stars of David. Even if a pair of these candlesticks are found today at an antique shop, these drip pans tend to have been replaced or are missing entirely.
33 cm tall.
