A special warm letter by the Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Welcz Rabbi of Budapest & later a Dayan in Jerusalem to the Vadd that were planning to publish a 50 year jubileum volume in honer of the great Gaon Rabbi Akiva Sofer Rabbi in Pressburg the Daas Sofer.

Rabbi Yisrael Weltz (1887-1973), studied under Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer of Paks, Rabbi Shmuel Gottlieb of Papa and Rabbi Akiva Sofer of Pressburg. Son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Efraim Balaiti of Tarnalia. Rabbi of Tinie (from 1913), where he established a Yeshiva. After WWI he served as Rabbi of the Pest district (of Budapest), where he also headed a Yeshiva, and became known as one of the leading rabbis in Hungary. During WWII he survived in hiding, and after the war, emigrated to Eretz Yisrael, where he was renowned as a leading halachic authority. Author of Divrei Yisrael (three volumes of responsa) and Chok Leyisrael.
