The holy Rabbi Yisrael Friedman (1878-1951), the Admor of Boyan. Born in Sadigura to his father, Rabbi Yitzchak, the first Admor of Boyan, a grandson of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. In 1917, following his father’s death, he began to serve as the Admor of Boyan in the city of Leipzig, Germany. He immigrated to Israel in 1939, settled in Tel Aviv, and founded a study hall there. He lit the traditional bonfire in Meron on Lag B’Omer from his immigration to Israel until his death.
