Letter of authenticity enclosed (handwritten note, in English), signed in Hebrew by Mrs. Chana Gurary (1899-1991), eldest daughter of Rebbe Rayatz: "I hereby gift…. The pin which the Rebbe Maharash and his wife bought as a gift to their daughter-in-law, my grandmother Shterna Sarah. My great grandfather the Rebbe Maharash bought it during one of his trips and gave it to her upon his return to Lubavitch. My grandmother gave it to me as a gift".

The letter is dated September 17th, 1989.
