This work is considered by many bibliographers to be the first extensive halachic Sefer published in America. With an approbation written by R. Yitzchok Elchonon Spektor a few weeks before he passed away.
R. Tzvi Hirsch Grodzinsky (1858-1948), was among the most illustrious students of the Volozhin Yeshiva and the Kovno Kollel. In 1891, he immigrated to America and served as the Rav of Omaha, Nebraska for over 50 years. He was a cousin of the famed R. Chaim Ozer Grodzinski.
