An Interesting content letter by Rabbi Bick against the construction of an Eruv in New York.
He explains in the towns of Europe, an Eruv was needed to keep the Cholent and take it from the baker, and to bring water from the river, but according to him, the G-D fearing ultra-Orthodox did not make use of the Eiruv.
