In memory of victims of the Holocaust
Selichos Kaf Sivan, a collection of prayers and poems originally composed to commemorate the victims of the Khmielnicki massacres of Jews in Ukraine 1648 and earlier anti-Jewish persecution. They were reintroduced in the Hungarian Jewish community to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust.
This publication was printed by the Central Office of Hungarian Orthodox Jewish Communities, to be recited ‘over the murder of our Jewish brothers in our country, from 1940-1 onwards, and especially in 1944-5, as well as for the destruction of Synagogues and Houses of Study and the desecration of Torah scrolls and other sacred books. May G-d have mercy and stop this persecution!’
