Selihot mi-kol ha-Shanah Selihot (penitential liturgy) for year round along with Yiddish translation on the lower half of page. Selihot are a special order of service consisting of non-statutory additional prayers which are recited on all fast days, on occasions of special intercession and during the Penitential season which begins before Rosh Ha-Shanah and concludes with the Day of Atonement. The word selihah means forgiveness, and in the singular is used to indicate a piyyut whose subject is a plea for forgiveness for sins.

Early Judaica Americana Naphtali Judah & Eleazer Lazarus 1813 A early American Judaica document concerning a court case with the plaintiffs being Naphtali Judah who was a trustee of Congregation Shearith Israel, the oldest synagogue in the city & Eleazer Lazarus who was the son of Samuel Lazarus. He was a city assessor in New York City for many years. He edited the Hebrew text of the first Hebrew prayer book published in North America. On November 1, 1809, he was married to Zipporah Hart.
