The Gaon & Tzadik Rabbi [Moshe] (1768-1806) son of Rabbi Avraham Bondi of Prague, a disciple of Rabbi Yechezkel Landau the author of the Nodah BiYehuda, & of the Teshuvah Me’Ahavah. He moved to Mainz for his marriage to Mrs. Beila the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Naftali Hirtz Shayer of Mainz. Innovations by Rabbi Moshe Yonah were printed in Sefer Torei Zahav. Additional innovations on the Shas, from the time he studied at the Mainz Yeshiva, remained as a manuscript and are kept in the National Library.
Although he died when he was only 38 years old, he was known as a genius and Tzaddik. Exceptional stories were told of his diligence in studying Torah. His son, Rabbi Shmuel Bundy of Prague (whose Piyutim were printed in the prayer books of Rodelheim), wrote: "He was greatly proficient in Shas and Poskim …"
