A impressive silver cup and tray. Attached is a certificate from the hoiz bochur (attendant) testifying that the Admor shlit”a used them for an extended period during Tishen and on Shabbat.

Rebbi David Twersky was born in 1953 to Rebbi Yisrael Mordechai and Sarah Greina, daughter of Rabbi Sender Uri (a Rachmastrivka Chassid and a descendant of Rebbi Tzvi Elimelech Shapira of Dinov). His sandek was Rebbi Mordechai Shlomo Friedman of Boyan, a close relative, and the Kohen who performed his Pidyon HaBen was Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Levin. He grew up in the home of his grandfather, Rebbi Yochanan Twersky, serving him and even sleeping in his house. He studied at the Talmud Torah Etz Chaim in Jerusalem, where one of his teachers was Rabbi Neta Freund.

On the 18th of Sivan, 1972, he married Esther Tzirel, daughter of Rabbi Moshe Neuschloss, the rabbi of New Skver. In the early years of his marriage, he lived in the Skverer community. He was a student of the Gaavad of the Edah HaChareidis, Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, which is reflected in his public conduct and observance of holidays. He was also close to Rabbi Meir Soloveitchik and Rebbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Twersky, the Admor of Machnovka.

After his father’s passing on the 22nd of Sivan 2004, he initially refused to accept the position of Admor and suggested that his father’s Chassidim follow his uncle, Rebbi Chai Yitzchak Twersky, who served as an Admor in the United States. Eventually, he accepted the role at the directive of his uncle. When his uncle visited Israel, they would conduct tishen together.

He prolongs his prayers and mitzvah observances. For example, his High Holiday prayers extend almost until sunset and sometimes beyond, and his Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony (including the tish that follows) can last over three hours.
