This magnificent late 19th-century Austrian Hanukkah lamp is a stunning example of fine silver craftsmanship, reflecting the artistic and cultural heritage of European Jewish communities.
The backplate is ornately decorated with elaborate floral and foliate motifs, intricately sculpted in relief, evoking a sense of regal opulence. At the center, a prominent tablets of the law feature the Ten Commandments intricately engraved under a regal imperial crown.
Below, a row of finely shaped oil fonts with gracefully curved spouts stands in alignment, supported by an elegant platform adorned with scrolling feet. The presence of a detachable servant light (shamash) in its own jug shaped cup inserts into the top side of the back plate elevated above the others.
