This coin was presented by poor people who collected charity to an appointed leading chair in the town of Strykov in exchange for funds held by them . These coins were minted and given by households in Strykov to represent a certain amount of funds they transferred over to the gabbai in advance. The coin represented a certain amount of money that was held by the appointed person for the townsfolk in order to give charity to poor people of the town.
Marked on the coin are the letters ‘Gimmel’ and ‘Tzadik’ followed by the words "Perutah" and "Strykov" written in Hebrew.
