Pearlescent mother of pearl hinged cover smoothly finished and decorated with a beaded square pattern and crisscross scrolling designs. The cartouche at the center of the cover features an engraved depiction of an old structure with a pillar like balustrade at top. Engraved above the structure in Hebrew are the words "Beit Hakenneset Hayashen Zolkovo" which translates to "The Older Synagogue of Zolkovo".
The sides of the container are made of mother of pearl with beautiful floral and foliate designs. Skeletal structure of the box is metallic and supports the sides and the cover of the snuff box.
