Two important antique marginal notations.

On the title page, the Hebrew and foreign stamps of ‘נחום דובער פרידמאן’ with the lion logo and a stamp of ‘קנין כספי’ which appeared in seforim he had purchased.

The Holy Rebbi Nachum Dov Ber Friedman [1844-1883] the son of the holy Rebbi Sholom Yosef of Ruzhin and the son-in-law of the holy Rebbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, a great Torah and Chassidus Gaon. Lived his entire life in the court of his father-in-law in Sadigura. His large library contained many rare books and manuscripts and was one of the most important and renowned libraries of his time. The Gaon author of ‘Yad Yehuda’ the Rav of Sadigura writes in his foreword to his Sefer ‘And when I came here to Sadigura I found what my soul loved in the house of my relative the Tzaddik Rav the son of the holy Nachum Dov who has a collection of rare books by ancient authors which is unparalleled.

He used to stamp his seforim with three stamps – Minchas Shai (gift), Yerushas Avos (inheritance), Kinyan Kaspi (bought with my money).
