Sefer Imrei Shefer contains sermons for the weekly Parasha, holidays, hespedim, and various occasions, written by the pious Rabbi Naftali Hirtz Halevi of Safed.
Venice, 1601, first edition.
The sefer includes eulogies for the passing of the Chachamim Rabbi Eleazar Azkari, author of the sefer Haredim, Rabbi Ya’akov Beirav (the second), and Rabbi Ya’akov Abulefia.
"All his Ma’asim were with complete Kedusha and Chassidut, and everything was hidden and concealed on his part" (From the Hesped by Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Modena on the author).
The author, Rabbi Naftali Hirtz Halevi, was one of the scholars of the Land of Israel in the era of the giants of Torah and Kabbalah – the Beit Yosef, the Arizal and others. In his later years, he traveled to Venice and passed away there in 1602, eulogized with great honor by Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Modena ( Midbar Yehuda, pp. 78-80).
